Random Natural Hair “Incident”:
So i’m at work and one of my co-workers ask me if I know any women with natural hair. Naturally, I say yes. He wants to do a natural hair photo shoot. So I say “well i’m natural, did you want me to do it to?” (mind you, I have my hair straightened today, but it usually isn’t) And his response was ” you’re hair isn’t nappy enough”. What the hell does that mean? My hair ISN’T NAPPY ENOUGH?? How nappy does one’s hair have to be, to be considered natural? So I said “well you can’t tell today, because my hair is straight”, and he responds “it still doesn’t look nappy enough”.
Honestly I shouldn’t have been so offended, but I was. Like, how dare you think you can decide who’s hair is nappy enough to be considered natural. Just because my hair is straight, that doesn’t mean I can’t get it into a beautifully curly Afro.
Moral of the story: Don’t let anyone define your naturalness (that’s not even a word; oh well!). And don’t get offended by the uneducated, they don’t know any better.
Natural Hair Problem: Debris always get stuck in your hair, when you’re outside
I am loving these twists! I started a week later, than I originally planned, and i’m not finished, but I am already in love with them. They are so lightweight and look so natural coming from my head. This will definitely be apart of my protective styles, permanently.
